These cutters have a lap joint; one half of the joint overlaps the other, and a screw is set through both halves, allowing the joint to be adjusted as needed.
The double-leaf spring consists of flat, tempered metal tabs attached to the inside of each of the tool handles, positioned to meet and hold the handles apart (and the jaws open) until they are squeezed closed, delivering a fast, strong rebound for improved productivity.

Micro-Bevel Cut: Designed by Lindstrom to leave the lead end of the cut wire with a smaller surface area and flatter profile than Semi-Flush Cutters. The outside of the wire is "pinched" by the cutter, leaving a much smaller bevel. This design also gives the cutter a greater cutting range.
Flush Cut: Produces a cut profile similar to the Micro-Bevel, but with a less pronounced bevel and flatter surface. These flush cutters have finer cutting edges than micro-bevel cutters; they leave a shorter, narrower taper along the “pinch,” reducing the area of metal exposed by the cut.
