The degreasing bath which is also commonly referred to as electro-cleaner is used to activate the surface of metallic substrates prior to electroplating.
It is an alkaline based chemical which helps with both surface cleaning and preparation.
This process can be executed using a wide temperature range from 25-50⁰C, while dispersing approximately 6 volts of electricity through the liquid using a stainless steel anode as the positive pole.
This produces several hydrogen gas bubbles which assist in the activation process.
