This effect can be useful when the high polish is contrasted with another finish so as to give a "highlight" to the piece, as a strip of high polish or a highlight on elevated edges or curved shanks.
The shape of the Starlight polishers can also be used to polish recessed or difficult to access areas.
Best results are achieved with speed between 25,000 r.p.m to 35,000 r.p.m, so these points will work best with a micormotor that can reach those high speeds.
